About the France gross-to-net calculator

This calculator estimates net pay from gross using the 2026 employee contributions of a private-sector employee: old-age insurance, AGIRC-ARRCO supplementary pension, balancing contribution, CSG and CRDS. The monthly social security ceiling used is EUR 4,005.

Income tax withholding is calculated at the neutral rate of the metropolitan France grid. Your personalised rate, supplementary health and provident cover, overtime and benefits in kind are not included.

How to calculate your net salary

  1. Enter your monthly gross salary in euros.
  2. Click “Calculate net pay”.

Frequently asked questions

How do you go from gross to net salary in France?

Employee contributions (old-age pension, supplementary pension, CSG and CRDS) are deducted from gross pay. For a private-sector non-executive employee that is about 21% of gross in 2026, excluding supplementary health cover. Income tax withholding is then deducted to give take-home pay.

What is the 2026 social security ceiling?

The monthly social security ceiling is EUR 4,005 in 2026 (EUR 48,060 a year). Some contribution rates change above that amount.

Which withholding rate does the calculator use?

The neutral rate from the metropolitan France grid in force since 1 May 2026, applied to taxable net pay. Your personalised rate, as notified by the tax authority, may be different.

Does it distinguish executives from non-executives?

No. Employee contribution rates are almost identical; executives only pay an extra 0.024% APEC contribution, which is negligible. The result matches a non-executive.

What is not included?

Supplementary health and provident cover, Alsace-Moselle, tax-exempt overtime, benefits in kind and bonuses. Your payslip may therefore differ.

Is the calculator free?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. Your inputs are not stored.
