About the Italy net salary calculator
This calculator estimates the net pay of a private-sector employee in Italy from the RAL. It applies the employee INPS contributions, 2026 IRPEF with the employment tax credits, and the cuneo fiscale.
The result is an estimate for a standard case: single, no dependants. It does not include regional and municipal surtaxes, which depend on where you live, or other personal credits and bonuses.
How to calculate your net salary
- Enter your gross annual salary in euros.
- Select 12, 13 or 14 monthly payments.
- Click “Calculate net pay” and read INPS, IRPEF and net pay.

Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate net salary from the RAL?
Employee INPS contributions and net IRPEF, calculated on taxable income with the employment tax credits, are subtracted from the RAL. The annual result is divided by the number of monthly payments.
Should I choose 12, 13 or 14 monthly payments?
Annual net pay is the same. Only the distribution changes: with 14 payments the monthly amount is lower, but you receive the 13th and 14th month salaries.
Which INPS contributions are included?
9.19% of the RAL, plus an extra 1% on the part above EUR 56,224. For people first enrolled after 1995 a ceiling of EUR 122,295 applies. Some sectors have different rates.
Are regional and municipal surtaxes included?
No. They depend on your region and municipality and are paid the following year, so the net shown does not include them. They can reduce your actual net pay further.
What is the cuneo fiscale?
It is the reduction of the tax burden on employment income. Up to EUR 20,000 it appears as a tax-free amount added to pay; between EUR 20,000 and EUR 40,000 as an extra tax credit that falls to zero at EUR 40,000.
How reliable is the result?
It is an estimate for a standard case using the 2026 rules. Your payslip may differ because of your contract, family credits, surtaxes, welfare plans or pension funds.
