How Australian income tax is calculated (2026–27)

This calculator estimates tax for an Australian resident for the 2026–27 financial year using the ATO resident rates: 0% up to $18,200, 15% from $18,201 to $45,000, 30% from $45,001 to $135,000, 37% from $135,001 to $190,000 and 45% above $190,000. It also applies the 2% Medicare levy and the low income tax offset (LITO), and shows the 12% employer superannuation guarantee that is paid on top of your salary. Example: on a $90,000 salary, income tax is about A$17,520 and the Medicare levy is A$1,800, leaving about A$70,680 a year.
